Herbal Immunity Broth

A rapid shift in the weather says that fall is fast approaching!

It's my favorite time of the year and the cooler evening air has me in the mood for something warm and satisfying!


I've been aware of the benefits of broth from the beginning of my wellness journey (there's a recipe for Balancing Broth in my book Raw Food Cleanse). And of course you received my full pitch about saving your kitchen scraps for veggie broth in yesterday's email. I know a number of you have been doing this for along time!

In today's episode of Foodie Friday, I am making one of the recipes from September SlimDown LIQUIDS - Herbal Immunity Broth!

I LOVE this recipe because it requires NO chopping, it is super speedy to make and it is so tasty! If you have your homemade broth ready, it will add a special depth of flavor to the recipe, but you can even make this with plain, filtered water and it's still delicious, grounding and restorative to all the systems of your body!

Herbal Immunity Broth

This immunity-boosting broth is one you’ll want to slurp on all year long. And what’s even better is it doesn’t require a bunch of chopping! It’s nourishing, easily digestible and very supportive of good gut health. 1/2 lemon, juiced 1-2 tbsp nutritional yeast 1/8 tsp himalayan salt

1 tbsp Holy Basil (Tulsi tea) 1 tsp each ashwagandha & astragalus 4 cups hot veggie broth, filtered water, or use an immune supportive tea as your base 1 clove garlic, chopped  1 tbsp raw white miso pinch of cayenne powder In your blender add the lemon juice, nutritional yeast, salt, and herbs. Heat water or tea tea on the stove until just before boiling, allow to cool just to a drinkable temp and pour into the blender. Blend on high for several seconds. Add garlic and miso at the end to preserve the nutrients and fermentation properties of the miso. Blend for several more seconds and pour into a mug or thermos to enjoy anytime you need a burst of heart warming, supportive nutrition on the go!
