I got a crunchy craving and went on a cracker making tangent!!
Everything Bagel Seed Crackers When you need something crunchy, savory and versatile! These crackers pack a mega dose of protein, omega 3 fatty acids, vitamins, phyto-nutrients AND they are grain-free, gluten-free, paleo, vegan & delicious!
½ cup flax seeds, whole ½ cup chia seeds, whole ½ cup sunflower seeds, raw ½ cup pumpkin seeds, raw ¼ cup white sesame seeds, raw ¼ cup black sesame seeds, raw 4 garlic cloves, minced (or use ½ tsp garlic granules 1 tsp dried onion flakes (or finely mince raw onion) 1 tsp himalayan salt 1 cup pure water
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl, add the water. Stir together and allow the flax and chia seeds to absorb the water - the mixture should be somewhat gelatinous, but easy to spread (if it’s too thick, you can add more water). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and stray with a little bit of cooking oil. Using on offset spatula, spread the mixture out until it is about ¼ inch thick. Bake for about 20 minutes, remove from the oven and slice into crackers with a pizza cutter. Carefully turn them over and put back into the oven for an additional 20 minutes or until you reach the desired crispness.
Tropical Delight Crackers To make this recipe quicker and easier, place carrots, pineapple, apple, cranberry, pecans & ginger into a food processor until chopped - not pureed.
1 cup flax seeds 1 cup carrot pulp, or finely grated carrots ½ cup fresh pineapple, finely diced 1 apple, cored & finely diced ½ cup pecans, finely chopped (I used hemp seeds) ⅓ cup dried cranberries, chopped 4 dates, seeded and chopped 1 tsp freshly grated ginger 1 vanilla bean, scraped (or ½ tsp vanilla extract) ½ tsp himalyan salt 1 cup water to combine all ingredients (add more as needed)
Spread mixture onto lined dehydrator trays and set telp at 115 degrees for about 6 hrs. Flip onto mesh screen & remove backing, cut into desired shapes and place back into dehydrator for an additional 8 hours. ENJOY!
